Generative AI Scientist

Vimaan is looking for a Generative AI Scientist to drive the development of LLMs and other foundational models to power our supply chain inventory intelligence platform. This is a unique opportunity to exploit a treasure cove of unseen real-world data and develop unique Generative AI capabilities beyond vanilla LLMs. The role involves first principle thinking – from creating experiments, prototyping implementations and designing new machine learning algorithms to building for the largest scale. The position will be based in San Jose, CA.

Generative AI Scientist Qualifications

The ideal candidate has the following attributes

• Ph.D. and publications in machine learning, AI, applied mathematics, or related technical fields.
• Direct experience in LLM research with deep understanding of Transformer architectures, Pre-training techniques, RLHF, RAG etc.
• Industry experience in scalable and efficient methods for training and deploying LLMs
• Deep mathematical foundations with knowledge of Advanced Linear Algebra, Probability Theory, Topology, Numerical Optimization, Information theory, Graph Theory etc.
• Strong programming skills and working experience with ML/DL frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow etc.
• Publications in top conferences such as ACL, NeuRIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR etc is a huge plus.
• Experience with red teaming language models is a plus
• Experience with multi-modal generative models is a plus
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus
• Highly motivated and passionate individual with a very strong work ethic, ability to work in a team and work independently under supervision and guidance in a matrix management environment
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure startup environment and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
